NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) is implementing a new strategy to catch fake teachers and fraudulent colleges operating without proper credentials. This formula includes tightening the verification processes and utilizing advanced digital methods to track and identify such fraudulent activities. The key components of this plan are:

  1. Digital Verification: A more stringent digital platform where teacher qualifications and college affiliations can be verified online.
  2. Cross-Checking: Collaborative efforts with state education departments to cross-check the details of institutions and teachers.
  3. Surprise Inspections: Unannounced inspections of teacher training institutions to assess compliance with NCTE regulations.
  4. Data Monitoring: Institutions will be required to submit regular data, which will be monitored to detect discrepancies or irregularities.

This will ensure that institutions that don’t meet the required standards are shut down, and teachers who hold fake degrees will be caught, making it more difficult for fraudulent practices to continue.

NCTE Chairman Professor Pankaj Arora says that according to the rules, NCTE gives one-time recognition to teacher education institutes. There is no provision for inspection either. In such a situation, this formula has been implemented under the NCTE Act, 1993 to check every aspect including the level of education and infrastructure in teaching institutions.

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has issued an important order to obtain accurate information about the condition of classroom teaching, faculty appointment, infrastructure, lab-library in 15,500 institutions across the country. This formula will not only evaluate the level of education in the institution, but will also catch dummy teachers and institutions.
