IIT Kanpur–PFRDA Launch Innovate4NPS Hackathon 2026
Kanpur / New Delhi: The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), in collaboration with IIT Kanpur through its Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), today launched Innovate4NPS – PFRDA Hackathon 2026, a national-level initiative aimed at driving secure digital innovation in India’s pension ecosystem.
The hackathon is designed as a strategic platform to bring together students, startups, developers, and technology innovators to create scalable and future-ready digital solutions for key challenges in pension infrastructure. The initiative aligns with PFRDA’s vision of leveraging emerging technologies to strengthen governance, enhance subscriber experience, and improve service delivery under the National Pension System (NPS).
Anchored by SIIC IIT Kanpur, the program draws on the institute’s strong expertise in technology incubation, fintech innovation, cybersecurity, and startup mentoring. SIIC IIT Kanpur is among India’s most active technology incubators, having supported over 500 startups across sectors.
Innovate4NPS Hackathon 2026 will focus on simplified digital onboarding and KYC, predictive pension calculators, gamified pension awareness platforms, and AI-based multilingual assistance to improve accessibility and engagement.
The initiative offers prize money of ₹19 lakh along with six months of structured academic and industry mentorship. Registrations are open until 19 February 2026.
