Noida: Shiv Nadar School, Noida, delivered an outstanding performance at the CBSE North Zone-1 Under-11 Boys Chess Championship, securing the zonal title with a flawless record. Competing against 47 schools, the team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, winning all six of its matches to finish at the top.
The championship-winning team comprised Agastya Agarwal, Avie Raj Singh, Dhanish Agarwal, and Atharva Chandra. The quartet secured a perfect six wins out of six, earning 12 match points and 20 game points to comfortably finish ahead of the field.
A Flawless Run
The tournament featured a strong field of schools from Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, including Amity International School Noida, Amity International School Vasundhara, Lotus Valley International School and Delhi Public School, Knowledge Park-V, among others.
Despite the competitive field, Shiv Nadar School Noida maintained a perfect record throughout the championship, recording six wins with no draws or losses.
Amity International School Noida and Amity International School Vasundhara-6 finished with five wins and one loss each, earning 10 match points apiece. However, Shiv Nadar School Noida’s six-match winning streak placed the team firmly at the top of the standings.
Nationals Await in Jalandhar
Following their dominant zonal performance, Agastya, Avie, Dhanish and Atharva have now qualified for the CBSE National Chess Championship, which will be held in Jalandhar, Punjab.
The national championship will bring together zonal qualifiers from across the country, giving the young chess players an opportunity to compete at one of the biggest stages in school-level chess.
